Wow, Ok, here comes the 4th Annual A3C Hip Hop Festival March 20th thru 22nd @ CW Midtown Music Complex Atlanta, Ga.

The final artist announcement came out the beginning of the month. And other than the fact that Akrobatik will be gracing the stage as well as the AB’s , It will be a historical event the night of March 21st as the “Juice Crew” reunites! Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Marly Marl (are you reading this Studs!?!) MC Shan, Craig G, and Roxanne Shante. It’s been too long…and a dream come true for many!

The first day of the show is the MySpace kick off party…
Hosted by: Senor Kaos
House DJ: Lord (Public Enemy)
Featuring: Wale, Del Tha Funkyhomosapien & Little Brother

This also happens to be “Won’t You Wear Your Sweater?” Day - Rock your favorite sweater in honor of Mr. Rogers! It would have been his 80th birthday…The person stylin’ the flyest sweater to the festival will get a free pair of customized A3C sneakers. Also in theme with Mr. Rogers being that he was always rockin’ a fresh pair of kicks everyday! The thought of a festival of Hip Hop fans wearing their cozy sweaters in honor of one of my favorite people brings a little tear to my eye (well, it doesn’t take much, I just have a soft spot for the TV that molded me)

Anyway, so many great performers and things to experience (check out the press releases on the site) at this event I think the best thing for me to do is just give up the links and you can see for yourself…If you like Hip Hop, I suggest heading to the dirty, dirty…

… it better be Absolute Value, the new album from Akrobatik. In Stores February 19th, 2008

Akrobatik - Absolute ValueAkrobatik, Boston mainstay and one-third of critically acclaimed hip-hop collective The Perceptionists, is set to release his new album Absolute Value on Fat Beats Records on February 19th, 2008.

Absolute Value is the long awaited follow-up to 2003’s Balance, which established Akrobatik as an essential part of the Boston hip-hop scene. In 2005, Akrobatik translated his regional acclaim into national success as part of The Perceptionists. Their DefJux release, Black Dialogue, was acclaimed for its resounding criticisms of bandwagon pop culture and the Bush regime and became the only indie-rap project to register on Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Records of the Year list. Akrobatik’s success then led to a recording contract with Fat Beats Records, who will be releasing Absolute Value. (more…)
