June 2008: VICTORY!: The 1 year Anniversary Show!
We did it! Gator$-n-Fur$ has put down one year of monthly mayhem with this June show , so we’re gonna celebrate by playing whatever the f**k we want. No theme, just an hour of good music and madness. In true anticlimactic fashion, we’re taking July 2008 off from the show to clear our heads and catch up on real life things. Take that time to check out past shows you missed (download some of the self-proclaimed greatest Gator$-n-Fur$ shows below) and we’ll see you in August! I’m short on words today so I’mma make it brief. Jail ain’t a place for 4 foot 3 Chinchillas…or almost anybody for that matter. But Chief Chinchilla landed himself there like an a*s. Oh well…”phone check muthaf**ka”. Crime don’t pay, unless the crime is to strangle one of these dumb as*es that make up the 90% of the world’s people that deserve to be choked (it’s been that type of month for me). Then it pays dearly. Lights out!

Haha, nah, I was bored in the crib listening to some Ice-T, Biggie & Luke and decided put together a few remixes for my fun / your listening pleasure. Threw in a bonus beat for good measure. 02/19/08 - Drunk was the way of the walk. I started drinking back in Rhode Island (where this adventure started) just to calm my nerves. You would think having seen Akrobatik rock a show as many times as I have, that this event wouldn’t be as big a deal for me, but I have to say for some reason this show had me very excited. I have seen Akrobatik more times then I can count (or well at least remember), But if you factor in the new album, the new record label, the New York back drop and the team-up with Mr. Lif, Therapy and DJ JayCeeOh it adds up to a fanboy experience.

Akrobatik, Boston mainstay and one-third of critically acclaimed hip-hop collective The Perceptionists, is set to release his new album Absolute Value on Fat Beats Records on February 19th, 2008.
Absolute Value is the long awaited follow-up to 2003’s Balance, which established Akrobatik as an essential part of the Boston hip-hop scene. In 2005, Akrobatik translated his regional acclaim into national success as part of The Perceptionists. Their DefJux release, Black Dialogue, was acclaimed for its resounding criticisms of bandwagon pop culture and the Bush regime and became the only indie-rap project to register on Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Records of the Year list. Akrobatik’s success then led to a recording contract with Fat Beats Records, who will be releasing Absolute Value. (more…)
In 2001 something happened that even transcended Philip K Dick’s imagination. The mighty Twin Towers, the biggest symbols of American economy went down and the world would never be the same. An album that visionarily (it came out before 9/11) expressed that feeling of uncertainty and apocalyptic doom-thinking was Cannibal Ox’s (Vast Aire and Vordul Mega) ‘The Cold Vein’. A few projects and solo endeavours later, Vast Aire is now back with Karniege to release the Mighty Joseph album, inspired on the King Kong theme, Both artists are headin for the top of NY, like King Kong was headin for the top of another American symbol, the Empire State Building…
You’re about to release ‘Mighty Joseph’ through Urchin Studios, please tell us more about that project…When is the release date?
It should be out by February 12th 2008, the project is on I.G.C. Rec/Urchin Studios. This is a dope LP, it’s just raw and fun hip-hop that needs to come to the forefront! Vast Aire is bringing that raw again!
It all started over 12 years ago at Washington Irving Highschool. Vast Aire from Harlem and Karniege from Brooklyn formed a long lasting friendship that would eventually lead to the birth of Mighty Joseph. With Karniege at his side, Vast Aire toured all over the world promoting his solo project as well as with Cannibal Ox. (one of my personal favorites!) The duo used this time together to vibe and feed off each other to become better at the art of Hip Hop. And so it was, In 2005 the two finally decided to work together to create their first album Empire State.
