Tame One’s new album “Da Ol Jersey Bastard,” an ode to Wu Tang’s ODB, will hit stores on July 29, 2008. The album will be entirely produced by Drum and Knowledge of Parallel Thought, and will feature just two guest rappers, Sean Price and Del The Funky Homosapien. This effort will serve as a prelude to Tame’s next project, an ambitious download-only album tentatively titled “Acid Tab Vocab.”

The final artist announcement came out the beginning of the month. And other than the fact that Akrobatik will be gracing the stage as well as the AB’s , It will be a historical event the night of March 21st as the “Juice Crew” reunites! Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Marly Marl (are you reading this Studs!?!) MC Shan, Craig G, and Roxanne Shante. It’s been too long…and a dream come true for many!
The first day of the show is the MySpace kick off party…

This also happens to be “Won’t You Wear Your Sweater?” Day - Rock your favorite sweater in honor of Mr. Rogers! It would have been his 80th birthday…The person stylin’ the flyest sweater to the festival will get a free pair of customized A3C sneakers. Also in theme with Mr. Rogers being that he was always rockin’ a fresh pair of kicks everyday! The thought of a festival of Hip Hop fans wearing their cozy sweaters in honor of one of my favorite people brings a little tear to my eye (well, it doesn’t take much, I just have a soft spot for the TV that molded me)

Leaks New Track “Bubble Pop”

Del the Funky Homosapien has leaked a new track from his upcoming album Eleventh Hour to be released on March 11th via Definitive Jux records. The track, entitled “Bubble Pop” is the first glimpse into Del’s long awaited solo follow-up to a string of popular albums released in the 1990s (I Wish My Brother George Was Here, No Need for Alarm, Future Development, and Both Sides of the Brain). Since then, the Bay Area MC has concentrated on several collaborations; including 2000’s Deltron 3030 with Dan “The Automator” Nakamura and Kid Koala and 2001’s Gorillaz with Blur’s Damon Albarn. But fans have been hungry for another solo album from one of the most creative rappers on the scene. (more…)
