Slug (of Atmosphere) Interview (Part 1 of 2)
One half of Atmosphere, Slug, discusses what went into the making of their new album “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold” in part 1 of a 2 part interview.
Atmosphere’s newest project, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, has a different sound than their previous LP’s.The storytelling lyrics are similar to what we have heard before from Slug, but the production from Ant is what gives this Atmosphere album a twist.Through the fifteen tracks on When Life…, Ant proves to his listeners how versatile he is behind the boards. The refreshing beats from Ant compliment Slug’s narratives nicely, resulting in a steady and cohesive album from beginning to end.
Here it is. The Last Episode, Confirmed. Its Mostly out takes and bloopers.
Die hard fans will enjoy it, but its mostly just Slug laughing and swearing with little bits of info sprinkled here and there. The New album is in stores today so get of the internet and go buy it. Also check out their new website paintthatshitgold.com. Shit is dope. You can bomb up on any website graffiti style. Crazy.
This may be the last episode of Paint It Gold, so they made is spacial. It is a behind the scenes extravaganza. The Album “When Life Gives You Lemons, Paint That Shit Gold”, drops a week from today. Day one purchase confirmed.
Slug and Ant return to answer more questions from their fans as the Atmosphere media onslaught continues with Paint It Gold Episode 6. In case you didn’t already know, Atmosphere has a new album coming out in a little under 3 weeks. April 22nd to be exact. A leaked album. A leaked EP. Six Webisodes. I have to admit all this fan service has guaranteed that this album will be a day one purchase for me.
In the single “Guarantees”, Atmosphere seems to have went about this song a little differently (in terms of the beat). Slug does what he does best and rhymes about life, this time it’s over a guitar sample that you can’t help but love. If you enjoy Atmosphere as much as I do then check this song out and make sure you get your copy of “When Life Gives You Lemons…” available April 22, 2008.
Atmosphere - Shoulda Known
Atmosphere is at it again on the subject of drug abuse. In their new single “Shoulda Known”, hear Slug get real on drug addiction. I’m really feelin’ this song, this joint should become an instant classic to any Atmosphere fan.
Ant and Slug host another round of questions and answers about the upcoming album. This is some pure comedy. Watch it. Love it. Episodes 1 thru 4 are included so keep reading.
