KOCH EXPANDS URBAN ROSTER WITH FAT BEATS

(Port Washington, New York) October 30, 2007 – KOCH Entertainment Distribution today announced that is has signed an exclusive physical and digital distribution deal with Brooklyn-based hip-hop label Fat Beats Records. Under this new agreement, KOCH is the exclusive physical and digital distributor of the label’s catalog and forthcoming releases in North America.

Fat Beats Records, established in 1994, has grown exponentially from a basement store to an industry stalwart in what has become one of the most thriving art forms in the world. Fat Beats helped break the underground phenomenon Atmosphere who has went on to sell close to a million records. Since the success of Atmosphere, the label had successful projects with Edo G & Pete Rock, One Be Lo and Black Milk, to name a few. In early 2000, Fat Beats teamed up with KOCH Records to help launch successful releases from rap artists Afu Ra, KRS ONE, as well as a Fat Beats Compilation.

Forthcoming releases via KOCH include but are not limited to Akrobatik, one half of the Perceptionists, a Wu-Tang cover album by El Michels Affair and a new Black Milk album.
