Street Promotions. Organic. Grassroots. Aggressive.

The soul of Basement Flavor was born in the streets, the real streets, not the blinged out made for MTV version of the streets. Basement Flavor built a strong reputation by blasting the city with sticker runs and wheat pasting campaigns. We were everywhere, shaking hands and passing out flyers. BF has strong working relationships with all retail establishments that cater to the hip hop demographic. We believe that street promotions are the purest and most effective form of marketing for our community. We have provided street promotions for Indie record labels such as, Rawkus Records, Landspeed Records, BabyGrande Records, Cornerstone Music and fresh urban lifestyle companies such as the XBOX, LRG Clothing, and theFADER magazine.
Event Marketing. Concerts. Showcases. Performance Workshops.

If the streets are the soul of BF, then events are the heart! Events, for us, were all about creating a community. We are constantly trying to help develop local artists by giving them opportunity to rock and rub shoulders with established artists. By bringing down “big names” while showcasing local talent, BF was able to reach out to a larger cross section of people. Fans came to see the established artist, friends and family came to see the local artist, thus increasing each artist’s potential fan base. We have branded such events as: Off The Hook, Round Midnight, Chemistry, Unity, The RI Hip Hop Showcase, The Up and Comers Showcase, and The RI Hip Hop Awards. Basement Flavor has promoted events with Eminem, Smiff and Wesson, Guru, MR. Lif, Akrobatik, The High and the Mighty, Non Phixion, and many more.
Online Promotions. Trend Setting. Pioneers. Web 2.0.
We cut out teeth on free website like geocities, and quickly graduated to a real dot com in 2000. BasementFlavor.com carved out a comfortable niche promoting the Rhode Island hip hop scene. We constantly were pushing the content envelope with video battles and exclusive audio. Our forum was infamous for it’s verbal debates and debauchery. BF was well known for its Email Blasts and forum campaigns and we like to believe we pioneered a lot of the online marketing tactics that are commonly used today.
College Radio. Tastemakers.

Basement Flavor has worked hand in hand with college radio to help break new artists. Basement Flavor has had two separate radio shows on two separate college stations in the New England area. We have worked to keep any and all potential listeners up to date of fresh hip hop events.
Public Access TV. Raw. Unconventional.
Basement Flavor was involved with ILLVisionsTHC a popular public access television show in Rhode Island. It was one of the longest running hip hop public access shows in the area. Mortal learned how to shoot video and edit from T-Rock. T-Rock was the genius behind ILLVisionsTHC and was a true pioneer in the industry. T-Rock’s vision and tutelage would spark Mortal’s love for video production which brought about our own public access show, The RUFF CUTT. The RUFF CUTT ran for a year and featured footage of Eminem, The Roots, Jedi Minds Tricks, Sean Price and Agallah, Dead Prez, Wyclef, De La Soul, and countless others.
